Mechanism of Operation:

<li>HearApp guides users through a comprehensive series of auditory exercises focused on word and phrase recognition in varying environments, including quiet and noise-filled settings.</li>

The development of HearApp is grounded in extensive research conducted by BioSpeech, Inc., a Portland-based biomedical research organization specializing in speech and hearing technology. Through consistent practice, users can learn to discriminate speech sounds more effectively, enhancing overall communication.

Contextual Background:
In the United States, approximately 35 million people experience some degree of hearing loss. Among them, around 10 million utilize hearing aids, while approximately 67,000 have cochlear implants. While these devices provide significant benefits, maximizing their full potential often requires intensive auditory rehabilitation. Traditional face-to-face therapy can be costly and may not be readily accessible; consequently, there is a need for flexible, scalable solutions. HearApp strives to fill this gap by offering accessible auditory training options that support both children and adults in developing their listening comprehension skills.
